Exploring the Subconscious Anxiety Safety Rule

My peaceful warriors, welcome to another episode of the Health Anxiety Podcast show. Yes, we are back. Last week we had our first podcast back, so make sure to catch up on that one. This week we have a brand new episode, and like I mentioned, we’re going to dive deep into a subconscious safety rule that keeps your health anxiety alive.

Understanding the Subconscious Anxiety Safety Rule

And when you are going about your day, what I want is for you to be reminded of this safety rule, because so often, we’re going about our day feeling like we have our finger in an electrical socket, our bodies are trembling, we feel activated, but we also feel tired. There’s a lot going on with health anxiety, and the symptoms can be different from one person to the next.

But as long as you remember this subconscious health anxiety safety rule, which is at the very top of all of the symptoms and habits, you will start to understand why things are happening the way they are. The rule is this. The unconscious mind will always look to protect you before it looks to keep you happy.

The Unconscious Mind’s Priority: Protection Over Happiness

Okay, it will always look to protect you before it looks to keep you happy. Now, let’s attribute what’s going on on the inside to what may have been going on on the outside with you and a parental figure, for example. Maybe you had a mom who was overbearing, who always said to be careful, who was there a meter away from you all the time, who was just so overprotective that you felt smothered.

Internalization of Threats and Self-Sabotaging Habits

Now take the example of a parent. And multiply it by a hundred, and you have your unconsciousness, which is the very, memory storage system that is causing the health concerns that you are experiencing, causing you to believe that you are experiencing health anxiety. What this means is that when your senses sort out how to interpret the present experience, they will first look to rule out anything that could be threatening, which includes physical threats, social threats, financial threats, and so on, prior to allowing you to feel emotionally neutral and safe.

Now, if the outside threats are no longer present, this is important. if the outside threats are no longer present, the unconscious mind will go inward and therefore define certain bodily sensations and symptoms as being present or future illnesses. This is what keeps us standing guard all the time.

This is when self sabotaging habits become formed Such as constantly checking in with your symptoms or paying too much attention to other people’s health statuses. And the need to speak about your worries and your symptoms with others, especially authority figures, right? So, we have to get to a point now, my friends, and, and this is a have to, this is a must.

It’s not a should; it’s a must. We must get to a point now where we realize this. I say this in the main Anxiety Guide podcast from time to time to remind you of what’s going on. We have to understand that your sensations are driven by The unconscious mind, that has the cognitive rationale of a seven year old child.

Recognizing the Cognitive Rationale: A Seven-Year-Old Mind

Now let me ask you this. If a seven year old came to you and said, There is something really, really frightening right around the bush. How would you treat that seven year old? Would you take the seven year old Walk with that seven year old to the bush. Look around and show the seven year old that there isn’t really a threat or it’s not as big a threat as the seven year old thinks.

Or would you allow the seven year old To take you by the hand and just run off in that very situation. I believe you would do the first one. Now what’s happening with health anxiety is we are allowing the 7 year old to dictate how we define our symptoms. We are allowing the 7 year old to dictate how we interpret our future.

Our life, our physical health, everything. Now, if we continue to allow the seven year old to run everything, literally everything, and decide for us the meaning of something, then we will always be stuck in fear. And Notice what I said in the example with the seven year old and the threat around the bush.

Shifting Focus: From Stopping Symptoms to Ending Fear

There comes a point in this health anxiety healing journey where you have to stop doing what’s not working and start doing what needs to work for you. Meaning, going directly towards the threat. If you go directly towards the threat, then you’re starting to peel the onion. You’re starting to see things more clearly.

Role of Surrender Sessions and Health Anxiety Program

This is what people are telling me. While going through my programs and going through the surrender sessions on YouTube on a daily basis. These meditations are the very things that take you from fear to safety. So, the unconscious mind acts this way because It’s never been taught. The seven year old has never been taught.

As a result, It is the master of us. We are not the masters of it. That is, until health anxiety becomes so prevalent in our lives that we have no choice but to look deeper into what’s going on, what’s causing this, and how to begin healing. Now, I want to share with you something very important, and I believe that it needs to be at the forefront of your healing journey.

Okay, listen up. And if you get a chance, share this with somebody who needs it. We must stop looking to stop the symptoms. We must stop looking to stop the intrusive thoughts. And we must start looking to end the fear around the symptoms and the intrusive thoughts.

That’s more than anxiety moment right there, isn’t it? So for so long, you’ve been frantically looking around for the technique, for the information, for the book, for this and that, to stop the symptoms. What happens when you try to stop the symptoms? You’re creating stronger symptoms. And what happens when you start to stop the intrusive thoughts?

Measuring Progress and Embracing Discomfort

Now you’re in a tug of war between the conscious and the unconscious thoughts, and you are going to lose. Okay? We have to begin understanding that the key to this health anxiety and healing journey is to lose the fear of the symptoms, the fear of a potential illness, the fear of the disease, the fear of a thought, and the fear of what may come in the future.

Because it is in those very steps when you lose the fear of these things that the symptoms can slowly subside. Because there is no more There is no more reason for them to be there. There is no more protectiveness that comes with the symptom anymore. The intrusive ideas. We no longer pay attention to them, nor do we give energy to them, and they start to subside as well.

Key Takeaway: Losing the Fear of Symptoms

What happens when something naturally subsides? Something else takes its place. And this is the key. To lose the fear of these things. This is where the Surrender Sessions come in on YouTube.

1.Embracing the Surrender Sessions

This is where the program comes in. The Health Anxiety Program, and no matter where you are right now, I want you to grab a card and write this down so that you’re reminded of it, okay?

2.The Role of the Unconscious Mind

The unconscious mind will always look to protect before it looks for your happiness. Write that down. Look at it multiple times. And then when something arises that causes some fear within you, you are reminded of what’s taking place on the inside world. This is an unconsciously driven, protective situation that we’re dealing with here.

3.Recognizing the Automated Process

This isn’t something coming from you, your true self, your divine self, your conscious self, your mindful self. This is an automated process. And as long as we realize that it’s an automated process, we no longer have to fear it. We can move towards it and go, “Hey, I hear you. And I understand that this is connected to the seven year old.”

4.Guiding Through Healing

Now, I’m going to guide you, and I’m not going to interpret my progress based on whether the feelings are the same or the symptoms are still there. This is key, and I’m going to talk about it in the future. Too many of us go, “Oh, I’m still feeling a certain way. Therefore, I’m not making any progress.”

5.Understanding the Healing Process

You’re going to feel like crap for a very long time. You’re going to feel even worse once you really start to heal. Subsequently, as you stay on that path, as you trust in that path, as you continue to provide safety instructions to the seven year old unconscious mind, that’s when all of this starts to dissipate, right?

6.Visualizing the Dissipation

It’s like imagining a valve opening up below your feet and all the fear starts to subside. All of it turns to mud, right? And it all exits your body,

So I hope this Health Anxiety Podcast episode spoke to you, my friends.
